Horensic battle for second in the final moto of the combined
gate of Classic 125 Novice, Sportsmen 125 Expert, 250
Intermediate and 500 Intermediate and Novice and Gran Prix
Intermediate divisions at the Broome-Tioga Sports Center on
October 10th.
Joseph Vanella
(105) and Andrew Glenn (86g) battle for the lead in the first
turn at the start of the first moto of the combined gates of
Historic 125 Intermediate, Historic 250 Intermediate and Novice,
Gran Prix 250 Expert and Intermediate and Gran Prix 500 Expert
and Intermediate divisions at Broome-Tioga on October 10th in
Binghamton, New York.

The
American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association (AHRMA)
vintage motocross enthusiasts pulled into the Broome-Tioga
Sports Center for the second time this year. Mother Nature did
not cooperate. Conditions could be described as lousy! Rain
most of the night previous left the grass track racecourse
very slippery and difficult.
Mark Strassner (426), Stephen Clare (partially hidden) and
Paul Wawrynovic (908) lead the start of the first moto of the
combined gate of Classic 125 Novice, Sportsmen 125 Expert, 250
Intermediate and 500 Intermediate and Novice and Gran Prix
Intermediate divisions at the Broome-Tioga Sports Center on
October 10th in Binghamton, New York.
Mark
Strassner, Ivan Beattie, Paul Wawrynovic, Stephen Clare and
Mark Bottesi led the start of the first moto of the combined
gates of Classic 125 Novice, Sportsmen 125 Expert, 250
Intermediate, 500 Intermediate and Novice and Gran Prix
Intermediate divisions. When the leaders came into the infield
after a half lap, Strassner held the point with Clare moving
up to second. Bottesi, Beattie and John Frackelton rounded out
the top five. Strassner started the second lap with an eight
second lead. Beattie moved from fourth to second with
Frackelton moving up to take third after a fifth place start.
Wawrynovic and Bottesi held fourth and fifth. Beattie reeled
Strassner in and made the pass for the lead after three and a
half laps. Strassner was relegated to second. Frackelton
quickly caught Strassner and made the pass to take second.
Strassner was displaced to third. Beattie pulled away to take
the win with a 12-second advantage. Frackelton, Strassner,
Wawrynovic and Bottesi followed.
Paul Wawrynovic (908), Mark Strassner (426), Marc Bottesi (80)
and Dan Horensic (55) lead the start of the final moto of the
combined gate of Classic 125 Novice, Sportsmen 125 Expert, 250
Intermediate and 500 Intermediate and Novice and Gran Prix
Intermediate divisions at Broome-Tioga on October 10th.
Strassner,
Wawrynovic, Bottesi, Dan Horensic and Steve Clare led the
final moto of the combined gate of Classic 125 Novice,
Sportsmen 125 Expert, 250 Intermediate, 500 Intermediate and
Novice and Gran Prix Intermediate divisions.
After a half lap, Strassner held the point and was
trailed by Horensic, Wawrynovic, Clare and Frackelton.
Wawrynovic passed both Strassner and Horensic to take the lead
at the start of lap two. Horensic was relegated second.
Frackelton was now third. Clare and Beattie rounded out the
top five. Wawrynovic continued to hold the point at the start
of lap three while Frackelton and Horensic battled for second.
Beattie passed Clare taking fourth. Clare dropped to fifth.
Wawrynovic lead was five seconds on lap three while the
remained of the top five had spread out. Wawrynovic got the
win. Frackelton, Beattie, Horensic and Clare closed out the
top five. Frackelton took first overall bragging rights with a
2-2. Beattie (1-3) took second and Wawrynovic (4-1) third.
Dan Horensic
(55), Paul Wawrynovic (908), Stephen Clare (147) and John
Frackelton (91k) battle for second through fifth on the
opening lap of the first moto of the combined gate of Classic
125 Novice, Sportsmen 125 Expert, 250 Intermediate and 500
Intermediate and Novice and Gran Prix Intermediate divisions
on October 10th at
Broome-Tioga.
Joe
Vanella, Andy Glen, Tom Schaefer, Loren Westcott and Dave
Boast led the start of the first moto of the combined gates of
Historic 125 Intermediate, Historic 250 Intermediate and
Novice, Gran Prix 250 Expert and Intermediate and Gran Prix
500 Expert and Intermediate divisions. Glenn came off the back
section in the lead and was trailed by Vanella, Scott
Mitchell, Westcott and Chris Brown. Glenn had a three second
lead after two and a half laps. Vanella caught and passed
Glenn in the back section on lap three to secure the lead.
Glen was relegated to runner-up. Vanella pulled away to take
the checkers with a nine second lead. Glenn, Mitchell, Boast
and Westcott completed the top five.

Prix 250 Expert and Intermediate and Gran Prix 500 Expert and
Intermediate divisions at Broome-Tioga on October 10th in
Binghamton, New York.
Vanella,
Robert Close, and Schafer led the start of the final moto of
the combined gates of Historic 125 Intermediate, Historic 250
Intermediate and Novice, Gran Prix 250 Expert and Intermediate
and Gran Prix 500 Expert and Intermediate divisions. Vanella
quickly left the pack behind and started lap two with a four
second lead that increased to eight at the start of lap three.
Boast held second while Brown and Schafer battled for third
and fourth. Mitchell was alone in fifth. Vanella took the win
with a six second lead. Schafer, Boast, Brown and Mitchell
followed.
Chris Brown (66v) and Tom Schaefer (3a) battle for fourth in
the final moto of the combined gates of Historic 125
Intermediate, Historic 250 Intermediate and Novice, Gran Prix
250 Expert and Intermediate and Gran Prix 500 Expert
and Intermediate divisions at Broome-Tioga on October 10th.
